Equipment Out of Service Evaluations

Using an analytical technique based on the same principles as heat balance development, ILD can provide Equipment Out of Service Evaluations including MSR OOS and Feedwater Heater OOS evaluations. For example, removing a heater from service impacts other equipment, including the turbine, system pumps, as well as the remaining in service heaters, in ways that may have unintended adverse consequences.  For this reason, ILD has developed a simplified method to determine the impact on other plant equipment, and in turn, determine the reduced operating thermal power level required to avoid equipment damage.
